On April 2, as part of World Autism Awareness Day, the Camina Conmigo Foundation launched the global “Light It Up Blue” campaign in Ecuador, an initiative that seeks to raise awareness about autism and promote a more inclusive, empathetic, and aware society.
Thanks to the Foundation’s efforts and coordination, numerous iconic landmarks across the country joined this cause, lighting up in blue as a symbol of respect, understanding, and support for people on the autism spectrum.

Among the landmarks that took part in this initiative were the Virgen del Panecillo, the Middle of the World Monument, the Vice Presidency of the Republic building, the Quito Chamber of Commerce, the Cuenca Airport Control Tower, as well as various locations in the hospitality sector such as Wyndham Quito, Wyndham Garden Quito and Guayaquil, La Quinta, and Tryp by Wyndham, in addition to participation in the Galápagos with Golden Bay.
This initiative was not only a visual milestone but also sent a clear message: autism is not a world apart; it is part of this world. Through this campaign, the goal was to raise awareness about the challenges that many people and their families still face, as well as to invite society to build more inclusive, accessible, and respectful environments.

Through initiatives like this one, the Camina Conmigo Foundation continues to establish itself as a key player in promoting inclusion in the country, rallying institutions, businesses, and citizens toward a common goal.
